Pastoral Care and Hospital Visiting

Pastoral care involves the whole church in developing a culture of care, it is not the sole responsibility of the Church Leader. There is a great deal of pastoral visiting taking place in an informal capacity in the parish. Many members of the church spend time caring for and visiting friends and neighbours.

In addition to these ongoing activities a more formal Pastoral Care Team has been formed in the parish. The main aim of the team is to offer a listening ear, companionship or support to those in the parish or members of the congregation who need it.

Hospital visiting

Can you please contact the Session Clerk or any elder if you or anyone you know is admitted to hospital and would like a visit.

Although hospitals do ask for religious affiliation and denomination, admission details are not passed on to the minister.

It would be useful for you to have: the persons name (their actual name), hospital and ward number.

Please also remember to tell the minister when someone is discharged from hospital. The minister can only visit if they know people are there.
